HARRIS: Parting biblical message
Dear Cliff,
I faithfully have read your weather forecasts for many years. You have shown extreme skill and professionalism in arriving at your predictions and your accuracy has been as good as it comes in your profession. As a weatherman, you will be missed.
I encourage you to carefully re-read your Bible with a mind uncluttered by the “Feel Good” message of a few preachers who are more interested in offering a message more intended to be appealing to their audience than the truth of God’s Word. Many people have come to trust your interpretation of the weather and extend that trust to your interpretation of the Bible.
Since it has always been your goal to give the most accurate interpretation of the weather facts available to you, may I encourage you to use your skillful fact-seeking mind and re-read your Bible without perpetrating the self-serving man-made spin of a few popular preachers. Look for a description of a “pre-trib rapture;” look for any justification that believers will escape the tribulation years.
Best wishes to you in your “retirement.” Your writings will now be judged for accuracy by a Judge far more discerning than the editor of the Coeur d’Alene Press!
