ENGLISH: Why he is qualified

| October 31, 2015 9:08 PM

My firm endorsement of candidate Dan English for City Council, Seat 5, currently held by Steve Adams, is not without my research into his background. I’ve found him to be a strong candidate. First of all, his reasoning to run for this position is because he is concerned about our community growth and progress. He is also concerned about the increased local tax burden dumped on homeowners. Dan will take a non-partisan, proactive approach to issues concerning our community as he has in the past by considering each issue on its merits and value to this community and not to judge from a pre-set ideology.

Dan is a proud graduate of CDA High School and NIC. He holds a BA in Criminal Justice Administration, a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and has served as a sworn police officer for the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, and has worked as a volunteer fireman for CDA Fire Department. He has been a licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. Dan has been on City Counsel in the past so he know the ropes. He is the founder and former Executive Director of two local non-profits and is currently Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho

One last important detail. Dan English is a registered voter, unlike Mr. Larry Spencer, an unregistered, non-voter resident of Kootenai County, who wrote in the Press on Oct. 30 a candidate endorsement letter. Dan English is a registered voter and takes pride in the privilege to vote for the betterment of our community. Good thing Dan was a CDA City Councilman when the embezzlement of city funds was uncovered!
