VOTE: These two for Mica
MKIFD has two commissioner positions to fill. It’s time for a change. Vote for Mike Arhutick AND Gretchen Hauser. We need commissioners that will represent the people, bring fiscal responsibility, promote BOTH wildland and structural fire protection, support and recruit more local volunteers, and provide for more open communication. These two candidates will do just that!
It’s time to move forward, not back. Fortunately Shelton was removed from office before he could finish out his term and fulfill his agenda. If elected he will pick up where he left off.
As a commissioner he proved his lack of integrity and was wrong for the job. He refused to listen to citizens, made public participation more and more difficult, stormed out of the Aug. 2014 BOC meeting, selectively enforced his public comment rules at BOC meetings, thinks he is above the law when he stated “I will get my hand slapped but right now we are going into executive session whether or not I called it legally or illegally” (I have the audio recording). After being removed from office he destroyed MKI emails and documents, and threatened to destroy additional public records in his possession (I have his email). In his Nov. 14, 2014 My Turn column he stated: “I fully support the current chief” which unfortunately was at the expense of representing the people. This is not the leadership we need or deserve. Vote for Gretchen Hauser.
Smith has demonstrated his inability to represent the people of the district. He has not been proactive in any way in representing the citizens/taxpayers. Mike Arhutick will be a strong voice for the people.
