MICA: Smith earns support

I urge all citizens of the Mica Kidd Island Fire District to support Jim Smith for Fire Commissioner Sub-District 1.

He has served his first term with a quiet and steady hand. Being true to his word, he has aided the fire department and the volunteers in their desire to serve the community.

As a retired business owner, he knows the meaning of fiscal responsibility. He also understands that part of being fiscally responsible is knowing when to make necessary investments into new or better equipment for the fire department so that the volunteers can do their jobs more safely and efficiently to meet the needs of our ever growing community.

He considers the needs now and for the immediate future of the entire fire district, not just a part of the district.

My husband and I are citizens of the district and my husband is a volunteer fireman for MKIF. We have visited with Jim and his wife on several occasions. He is a good and honest man who will carefully consider all ideas that are presented to him while upholding the law and making sure that everyone in the district is treated with fairness and respect.

He has no agenda but to serve his community, ensure fiscal responsibility, understand the fire department and how it needs to function to do the job that the tax payers deserve for the monies they invest. I urge you to vote for James L. Smith Sub-District 1 Fire commissioner.
