Kaitlyn M. Gray, 21
Kaitlyn Marie Gray, 21, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015. A beautiful shining light has been taken from us too soon and our hearts are broken. Kaitlyn Marie Gray was born March 29, 1994, in Coeur d’Alene to parents Tom Gray and Janet Bruhn. She attended school at Project CDA and North Idaho College. She was a hard worker with a great ability to connect with her customers, most recently as a desk clerk at Super 8.
Kait was a loving, giving person who never met a stranger. She was beautiful, tough and sassy with a huge heart, always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. Kait was a sweet girl who made sure the people she loved knew how much they meant to her. She knew what it was like to fight to overcome obstacles and was so kind and caring to others fighting their own battles. Kait had a large and loving family of Bruhns, Grays, Fullers and Cooks that cherished her deeply and are stunned that her loving soul has left us.
She is survived by her grieving parents, mother Janet Bruhn and stepfather Bryan Cook of Port Townsend, and her dad, Tom Gray of Coeur d’Alene; along with her brother, Bryan Cook Jr. and sister Courtney Cook. She is also survived by her grandparents, Mary Gray, Jill Bruhn, Brad Bruhn and Lee Cook; and great-grandparents, Wes and Sally Fuller; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Jack and her aunt, Kathleen; as well as her great-grandparents.
Not long ago Kait posted this quote: “You may remember a beautiful face for a few days, but you will remember a beautiful soul forever.” Kait’s beautiful soul will be remembered and treasured by everyone she touched during her too-short life.
The family requests that in Kait’s honor, do a kind act for someone in need. Reach out to someone who needs a helping hand and think of Kait as you make the world better, one act of kindness at a time.
A visitation/viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. today, Oct. 27, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, with a memorial service planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at the same location. A celebration of her life reception will follow the memorial service.
