GROWTH: Ruining our town

Who are the idiots who brought all this big money into Coeur d’Alene? It has destroyed the cute little town. Look, you can’t even see the Spokane River.

I left Coeur d’Alene in 1943 to work in the shipyards during World War II as a welder on the Liberty ship. I didn’t come back until 2000. I’m heartsick about all the big buildings.

I left Bellevue, Wash. You had to lay on your back to see the sky there. It’s going to be that way here if someone doesn’t stop this. When I left here, five-story buildings were the highest. Too many jets here bringing in new people. It’s brought in bad drivers and too much traffic and not enough police to control it.

I hope they all go broke. Go ruin some other town.
