BOX CITY: A success due to all involved
Family Promise of North Idaho’s Cardboard Box City — a homeless awareness activity as well as a fundraiser — was a success because of the participants, donors, sponsors and volunteers.
FPNI would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Mayor Steve Widmyer for speaking to the crowd about walking in another’s shoes and opening the city with the ribbon cutting ceremony. Gratitude also goes out to the families and church groups who participated by collecting pledges, eating soup (donated by friends of FPNI), winning prizes and spending the night in a cardboard box outside the Community United Methodist Church. Thanks to our business and organization sponsors who donated money to help homeless families with children in our region: Select Properties; Windermere Coeur d’Alene Realty; Idaho Independent Bank; CdA Kiwanis; Idaho Central Credit Union; bankcda; Columbia Bank; Silvaris Corporation; Payne West Insurance; Inland Northwest Bank; Element Dental; Access Care at Home; P1FCU and Apex Plumbing.
We also appreciate our business donors who made Cardboard Box City a fun night filled with presents and prizes: Pyramid Printing; Silver Creek Signs; Blacksheep Sporting Goods; Sweetwater Bakery; Faithful Chocolates; Azteca restaurant; Skate Plaza; Blue Smoke BBQ; Buffalo Wild Wings; Mod Pizza; Pizza Factory; Office Max; Call of the Wild Tattoo; Maverick Gas Stop; Panhandle Kiwanis; Numerica Credit Union; Top This; Game Stop; Cold Stone Creamery; Silverwood; and Kootenai Urgent Care. A special recognition goes out to Riley. He is a topnotch Boy Scout who has participated and been top fundraiser for CBC since he was 4. Thank you to his mom, too!
Please join us next year for this fun and educational event.
