ANIMALS: Show some compassion
On Oct. 9 there was a lady waiting for some tame ducks to cross the road by the Dashco store in Rathdrum. This lady, rather than being patient, decided to run over a duck and leave.
Lady, this is inexcusable. You had no reason to run over that duck and kill it. It seems to me you have no compassion for life. Of course, this is my opinion but I think there are a whole lot of people who will agree with me.
And the lady who beat the tame falcon to death earlier this year, the words above apply to you also. As humans we all need to show compassion for the animals. We must remember they are having a hard time also. Lack of rain is causing a lot of problems for everything.
We can help the animals in different ways. Why not put a container of water out for the little animals in our yards? If we see an animal in need of help, show compassion and help it.
Example: Crossing the road, we see a squirrel and we have a horn. Honk it, so the squirrel knows a car can be dangerous. And to shoot birds and animals just for the fun of it is wrong, in my opinion.
To those who also live on Reservoir Hill, I think we live in the best part of town. On this hill there are a lot of life forms: Turkeys, quail, deer, squirrels, cats, dogs, people and also moose. We who live up here tend to drive too fast; we need to slow down and keep our eyes open to what may run out in front of us.
All of us must do our part to help our animal friends. One more thing: To those who are cleaning the shooting range up Hayden Creek, thank you.
