SHELTON: Integrity makes him best

I’m writing to urge the citizens of the Mica Kidd Island Fire District to vote for Chris Shelton for Sub District 2 Fire Commissioner on Nov. 3.

Chris is a man who lives his life with integrity. He says what he means. Chris’ goals for our district are to “provide the best trained volunteers within budget, provide well maintained and compliant equipment, lower response times, maintain a community oriented organization and maintain an all volunteer group of emergency responders.” (Quote taken from the Mica Grange newsletter.)

Our community is growing in population with more homes being built yearly. Chris knows that the volunteers need education and training on an ongoing basis. He knows it will help them be safer and more efficient and consistently competent first responders for all incidents we respond to, structure fires, wildland fire and medical responses, and all non-emergency responses. He cares about our community and supports the efforts of our department to give the district the best service we can.

My wife and I are citizens of the district and I am a volunteer. I know that we at the department want to provide the best bang for the buck. As the community grows, we must respond to that growth to best represent the needs of the entire district, not just a portion of the district.

Chris has no hidden agenda. He is honest and hardworking and deserves our support for Commissioner Sub-District 2.
