Ken McMahon, 50

Kenneth Lee McMahon, 50, passed away suddenly on Oct. 7, 2015, due to natural causes. Ken was born on May 1, 1965. and spent his childhood at the family home on Hayden Lake.

He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1983. He earned an Associate of Science and an Associate of Applied Science with a major in small business management at North Idaho College, and then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis-Clark State College.

Ken was self-employed and operated McMahon Painting for several decades. He had loyal residential and commercial clients who would only use him for their painting needs.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid snow skier. Ken liked to hike, fish, camp, and rock climb. He loved to cook and his door was always open — always helping those he could. He enjoyed conversing with others, and was an avid reader.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Terence G. McMahon and Shirley McMahon Peterson. He is survived by his girlfriend, Tina Marshall of Post Falls; and his family members: brother Shawn (Lani) McMahon of Hayden, and sisters Sherry (Gary) Biggs of Rockwall, Texas, and Keri (Shannon) Reynolds of Hayden. Ken’s nieces and nephews are Eric Biggs, Whitney Gordon, Erin Gillaspy, Alisa Kniffin, Justin Peterson and Zoë McMahon, in addition to grand nieces and nephews. His Aunt, Joan Zink, and cousins Jerry Zink and Mike Zink, reside in the Spokane Valley.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at the Elks Lodge, 1170 W. Prairie Ave., Hayden. Please join us as we honor our brother and friend.
