Souper Bowl of Soup to benefit families in need

COEUR d'ALENE — The 15th annual Souper Bowl of Soup soup and bread contest, a fundraiser for local families in need, will be held on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Rooms 1A and 1B at the Kootenai County Courthouse.

The public is invited to the lunch, which costs $5 for all you can eat.

The lunch is homemade soups and breads made by county employees. All of the proceeds go toward filling Christmas boxes for selected "circuit breaker" applicants. The Circuit Breaker Tax Reduction Program is state-funded to assist people 65 or older, widowed or disabled on a limited income.
