Arlene Violet Thyne Clarke, 84

Arlene Violet Thyne Clarke passed away on Oct. 6, 2015, at the age of 84. Born to James H. Thyne and Cordelia Day Thyne on Jan. 18, 1931.

Arlene was later joined by her brother, John Thyne (now deceased). Arlene married Roscoe John (Jack) Clarke and they had three children, Roscoe George Clarke, Sam Clarke and Jacqueline Dee Clarke.

Arlene is survived by all three of her children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; her brother and many loved pets.

Arlene had a tremendous love for her animals and family. She was always a hard worker and was only forced to retire from her most recent vocation as a caregiver when she was diagnosed with multiple forms of cancer. Her love of gardening kept every passerby in awe of her ability to grow anything on a postage stamp. Arlene loved to sew, crochet and knit as well, making prom dresses for her daughter and doing her own upholstery and anything that challenged her she could do, making her own patterns.

A brief synopsis of her life really doesn’t do her justice, but we must be as courageous as Arlene and move on. Hopefully time will heal our hearts at the loss of our beloved mother. Arlene left her family and friends with an abundance of memories and goodness we can only hope to emulate. She will be missed by everyone she touched.
