NIC to host in-state rival Southern Idaho today
COEUR d’ALENE — Penny Gwynn led four players in double figures in kills with 15 for the North Idaho College volleyball team, which lost to the sixth-ranked Salt Lake Bruins 25-22, 17-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-13 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Friday night at Christianson Gymnasium.
Julia Silva and Brenna Meehan had 13 kills and Matila Altin had 12 kills for NIC (13-12, 5-2 SWAC), which entered the night tied for the league lead with second-ranked Southern Idaho.
Meehan had 20 digs, Gwynn 14 digs and Brittany Gay 52 assists and nine digs for NIC, which hosts Southern Idaho today at 1 p.m.
Jade Timothy had 17 kills, Ellie Cottam 15 digs and Rachel Davis 40 assists for Salt Lake (20-7, 7-2).
