Gladys Laverne Swartz, 92

Gladys Laverne Swartz went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. She was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Homestead, Mont., the fifth of 10 children of Orin W. Root and Nellie (nee Neisinger) Root.

Gladys spent her early childhood and attended school near Monroe, Wash. In 1948, she met and married Warren Swartz and they would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this November. They had two daughters, Rose Mary (Carl) Eby of Snohomish, Wash., and Rebekah (Becky) Swartz of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

In 1960, Gladys and Warren moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where they resided for 45 years before they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 2005. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, attended the First Baptist Church in Coeur d’Alene, and was a faithful follower of Christ her entire life. She enjoyed working in her flower garden which was a showcase on the street. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, arranging flowers, and various other crafts.

Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Warren Swartz; her two daughters; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two sisters.
