Creating a Stir
Stir, a “drink-and-enjoy neighborhood-style craft cocktail bar,” opened this weekend in Hayden Creek Plaza at 8166 Government Way. This is in the former location of the Moose Creek and Ciao Mambo places.
Offering cocktails, beer, wine and a “bar food menu” of $6-$10 items, Stir seats about 90 customers at high-top tables indoors and outdoors and at the bar. A “full NFL Sunday” is offered on 10 TVs. Owner Ray Hofacker has six employees.
Hours are noon to 1 a.m. and starting at 10 a.m. on NFL Sundays. Phone 660-1460. Check www.stir.mobi.com.

Now for the Tidbits
- Readers are thrilled that Cracker Barrel Restaurant is under construction. According to a map sent by the Cd’A Building Dept., the place won’t quite be surrounded by Appleway, Ramsey Road and Lee Court (Interstate 90). It’ll be just to the east of that prime vacant chunk. And east of Cracker Barrel will be the new Native Grill and Freddy’s eateries.
- 360 Fitness closed in Riverstone and combined with 360 Fitness at 208 E. Coeur d’Alene Ave.
- Watch for news on a new Ace Hardware in Rathdrum, Strada Cafe on North Third Street, Kootenai Law Group at 350 E. Kathleen, Labrador Store & More in The Resort Plaza Shops, a new Zip’s in Post Falls and a new rehabilitation facility in Riverstone.
- Maybe those squirrels are running across the street just in front of passing cars to impress their girlfriends.
