COEUR d’ALENE — Jose Anguiano had two goals and an assist to lead the Warriors past the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Division match at Eisenwinter Field.
“We haven’t lost that badly in a while,” NIC coach Ken Thompson said. “We were missing a couple of starters that usually win a lot of balls for us, which changes the game a little, but it wasn’t just two spots. The intensity of our entire team was affected by it. That being said, Walla Walla came out determined from minute one. They were organized, connected well on passes and did a great job.”
NIC (5-5-2, 3-3-2 NWC) hosts the Community Colleges of Spokane on Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
Walla Walla improves to 6-1-5, 4-1-3.
First half — 1, WW, Brendan Kenley (Emilio Rodriguez), 8:00. 2, WW, Jose Anduiano (Rodriguez), 14:00. 3, WW, Rodriguez (Francisco Sanchez), 40:00. Second half — 4, WW, Andiauno (Kenley), 66:00. 5, WW, Sanchez (Andiauno), 69:00. 6, NIC, Matt Howard (Alec Maldonado), 87:00.
