Potlatch Hill fire victim identified

The victim of Thursday's fire on Potlatch Hill has been identified as Robert Wayne Parkinson, 56.

It appears to be an accidental fire and accidental death due to fire, according to Coeur d'Alene Police detectives and the Kootenai County Coroner's office.

Fire investigators discovered several ignition sources in his sleeping area. There were candles, small propane cylinders, matches, and a lantern that contributed to the scope of the fire.

No foul play is suspected.
