SANDPOINT — Lake City’s Jack Barrett scored in the fifth minute, and Sandpoint’s Dawson Mulder added a goal in the 38th minute as the Timberwolves and Bulldogs played to a 1-1 nonleague draw on Saturday at Pine Street Field.

Lake City (8-1-1) had beaten Sandpoint 1-0 in Coeur d’Alene on Aug. 25 and 3-0 in Sandpoint on Sept. 17.
“It’s the third time we’ve played them and they’d gotten the better of us in the first two,” Sandpoint coach Adam Tajan said. “We’re happy with the result. It was an evenly played match.”
Sandpoint (10-2-2) travels to Post Falls on Tuesday.

OROFINO — The visiting Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the half to beat the Maniacs in an Intermountain League match.
“We played most of the staters for the first half and it gave us a chance to get some freshmen some minutes and the backup keeper some work,” Timberlake coach Bert Bentley said. “It seemed like we were playing down a little, but overall, I’m happy to get the win.”

“We came out a little slow, they came out a little fast,” St. Maries coach Chris Renaldo said. “But we’re a young team.”
