NIC VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals sweep Utah State-Eastern in SWAC home opener

COEUR d’ALENE — Penny Gwynn had 12 kills to lead the North Idaho College volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-14 win over the visiting Utah State-Eastern Golden Eagles in Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Friday at Christianson Gymnasium.
Brittany Gay had 33 assists, Brenna Meehan eight kills and six aces and Brooke Bell four blocks for NIC (10-11, 2-1 SWAC), which hosts Colorado Northwestern today at 1 p.m.
Utah State-Eastern (11-10, 2-2) returns to action at the College of Southern Idaho next Friday in Twin Falls.
