Mary Adeline (Wilson) Schell, 93
Mary Adeline (Wilson) Schell passed away on Sept. 27, 2015. She was born to Royal and Hazel Mae (Noble) Wilson in Oppor-tunity, Wash., on April 1, 1922.
Mary came to Post Falls, Idaho, with her parents and siblings at the age of 6 where she attended school, graduating from Post Falls High School in 1940. She graduated from Kinman Business University in Spokane, Wash., after commuting by Greyhound Bus to complete her studies.
Mary worked for Duffy Lumber Company before World War II started, at which time she accepted a position with the Civil Service, working in the Headquarters of the Second Air Force at Fort George Wright in Spokane. She later transferred to the 21st Replacement Wing in Salt Lake City, and finally to Marshall Field, Kansas. At the end of the war, Mary returned to Spokane where she worked for Gibson Welding Supplies for 23 years until the sale of the business. She completed her employment career with 13 years at Eastside Highway District, retiring in 1984.
In 1958, Mary married Mel Schell of Walla Walla, Wash., and they enjoyed 48 years together until his passing. Living on the Spokane River in Post Falls, Mary loved swimming across to Crystal Bay in the summer months and fishing, her favorite sport, the length of the river in Idaho.
Mary was a Past Matron and lifetime member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 12, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also Past Guardian of Jobs Daughters, Bethel 7. Mary was a lifetime member of Unity Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest brother and her beloved husband, Mel. She is survived by her five sisters, one brother and numerous younger family members.
To her friends and family she leaves this message: “Miss me and cry a little, but mostly laugh a lot when your memories remind you of our times together. Our paths crossed and you become part of my life.
Now let me go and spend your time filling the space around you with love and laughter. It will echo through the years.”

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
