| October 2, 2015 11:15 AM

The body found last week in the Roman Nose Lake area west of Naples in Boundary County has been identified as 53-year-old Post Falls resident Brent D. Barron, according to a press release issued this afternoon by the Boundary County Sheriff's Office.

"The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the manner and cause of death but, at this time, is investigating it as a homicide," the press release states.

The release does not state if there are any suspects, how long the body is believed to have been in that area of the Panhandle National Forest, the day it was found, the exact location or how law enforcement found out about it.

An earlier press release stated that Barron had been deceased a "considerable time" but did not provide an estimation of the amount of time. BCSO officials said there is no immediate threat to the community pertaining to the investigation.

An investigation continues. Further information will be released when its available.
