HEALTH CARE: A challenge for Idaho

Disagreements between parents end when the needs of a child are manifested. Mature couples put their differences aside to meet that child’s needs.

In government, with the “father” the president and the “mother” Congress, this child would be the citizens — us.

Enter ObamaCare. It is time that these “parents” to put aside their arguments and serve us with efficiency and compassion.

For those, like me, who are struggling to remain independent and not join the welfare ranks — who need medical help to continue to work — who exhaust themselves working as much as they can — we need a medical coverage answer that will support us rather than ignore us.

Doing nothing as you argue over control isn’t helping. Nor is relying on the existing indigent services system — a partial, limping and mostly broken program that costs the taxpayers way too much.

Did you know that indigent assistance is a loan that can take 25 years to pay back for a two-day hospital stay? And that it doesn’t cover an ER visit? Or diagnostic testing that could avoid these other expenses?

Legislators, it is time to close the gap and serve all our citizens for a stronger Idaho. Citizens, it is time to let them know you want concrete answers.
