PREP VOLLEYBALL: Kaufman leads Lake City to sweep of Sandpoint

COEUR d’ALENE — Ashley Kaufman totaled 13 kills and Lake City hit .312 as a team in a 25-12, 25-16, 25-18 victory over the visiting andpoint Bulldogs on Thursday night.
 
Nina Carlson and Arlaina Stephenson had seven kills each for Lake City (19-3). Tatumn Gould had a match-high 24 digs and Klaire Mitchell had 25 assists for the Timberwolves, who play in the Sheridan Volleyball Classic this weekend in Spokane.
Sandpoint is 10-11.

Coeur d’Alene

COEUR d’ALENE — Despite the return of Missy Huddleston from an ankle injury, the host Vikings fell to the Bullpups from Spokane 24-26, 25-22, 25-14, 25-19 in nonleague play.
 
Huddleston had nine kills and two blocks for Coeur d’Alene (13-3). Ali Williams had 10 kills, 27 assists and two aces, Izzy Hollibaugh had 12 assists, nine digs and three aces, Maura Donovan 11 digs, Sydney Bybee four blocks, Kelly Horning two.
 
Sophie West had 11 kills, Maria Adams nine for Gonzaga Prep.
 
Coeur d’Alene plays in the Sheridan Volleyball Classic this weekend in Spokane.

COEUR d’ALENE ­ — The Lumberjacks bounced back in a big way after losing the first game, winning a Central Idaho League match on the road against the Panthers 20-25, 25-14, 25-9, 27-25 at Holy Family Catholic School..
 
“Coeur d’Alene Charter came to play and we struggled,” St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said of the early going.
 
Devyn Wilson had 17 kills and Kari Ghramm added 14 kills and 13 digs for St. Maries (12-1, 4-0 CIL), which has won nine in a row.
 
Kelsey Auer had 33 assists and three blocks, and Kaylee Auer had three blocks. Aubree Hall had four aces.
 
St. Maries plays today at the Sheridan Classic in Spokane at Ferris High in pool play.
 
Stephanie Kociela had 10 kills, six aces and 13 digs, Madison Aittama nine digs and four kills and Katie McKee 17 digs for Coeur d’Alene Charter (2-6, 0-4), which hosts Kootenai on Wednesday.
 
“In the first and fourth game, even though we lost the match, that’s the best I’ve seen a Charter team play,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Ian Kelsey said. “I’m proud of the team, even though the result wasn’t the best.”

CLARK FORK — Te’a Lambert had six kills and Talia Hendrickx had 19 assists for the Knights in a 14-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-19, 15-9 North Star League loss to the Wampus Cats.
 
“I thought our girls played as hard as I’ve seen them play,” Lakeside co-coach Karyn Stockdale said. “They showed great teamwork and a great team effort and everyone contributed. We were very balanced offensively and defensively.”
 
Cailyn Dohrman had five kills and four blocks and Lillian Rhea six aces and three kills for Lakeside (5-8, 4-4 NSL), which travels to Kootenai on Tuesday.
 
Clark Fork is 7-4, 5-1.
