POST FALLS — Sydney Quimby scored in the 64th minute to break a tie as the Coeur d’Alene Vikings beat the Post Falls Trojans 2-1 in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Thursday at Post Falls High.
After the teams exchanged goals in the first seven minutes, Quimby scored on a breakaway for the final tally.
“It was a good game for both teams,” Post Falls coach Sarah Stevens said. “Both of us are gearing up for regionals and we’re ready to start a new season. As far as my squad is concerned, we’re just preparing for that time and try to do the best we can when we get there. We came out today with a game plan to execute like we’ve been practicing, but just let one get by us today. It’s unfortunate, but Coeur d’Alene did what they had to do to get out with a win.”
