PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Auer, Lumberjacks top Lake City JV
ST. MARIES — Kelsey Auer scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the St. Maries Lumberjacks to a 39-24 win over the Lake City JV team on Monday night.
Kaylee Auer added six points, seven rebounds and four assist, Paige Sines two points and six rebounds, and Alexis Cordell six points and three steals for the Lumberjacks, who took a 21-6 halftime lead.
“I thought our girls dia a good job of breaking their press — we got quite a few points off that,” St. Maries caoch Jay Sines said. “Defensively, we played much better than we have been.”
The Lumberjacks (2-1) travel south to face Orofino on Friday.

COEUR d’ALENE — Rayla Andrews had 11 points, 17 rebounds and six steals to lead the Royals (2-0) past the Wampas Cats in a nonleague game.
Sammy Hill added 10 points and six assists, Jenny Lassaon six points, 10 rebounds and five steals for North Idaho Christian, which travels to Plummer to face Lakeside on Thursday.
