Don Cruickshank, 75
Donald Dean “Don Bob” Cruickshank, 75, of Dalton Gardens, died Nov. 21, 2015. He was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Rolfe, Iowa, to James and Faye (Kilbourn) Cruickshank.
He graduated from Des Moines Township Consolidated School and served three years with the Air National Guard of Iowa. He was married to Susan Heinze on May 5, 1962, in Manson, Iowa, and they made their home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, where he worked in sales for Oberg Dairy. They later moved to Owatonna, Minn., and he began a career with Schwan’s Food. They moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1972. Susan preceded him in death in January 1993 and he was married to Valerie York on April 8, 1995.
Don enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, riding his Harley motorcycle, restoring old cars, watching team sports and NASCAR racing, and golfing with Val. He was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge and Christ the King Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Val; his daughter, Tami Moyer of Coeur d’Alene; sons Tony Cruickshank and Tracy Cruickshank of Coeur d’Alene; stepchildren Lee Ann and Daniel of Canada; grandchildren Mathew, Breanna, Michael, Elizabeth, Daniella, Benjamin, Karlee, Parker, Adalynn, Jody and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Payten, Kylie and Bentley; and his sister, Darla Hamann and her husband, Galen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sheryl Torgerson.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d’Alene, with Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene, in care of the arrangements.
