Prep boys basketball, wrestling begin this week

There have been a few schedule changes, but the regular season in prep boys basketball and wrestling gets underway this week.

There is one boys hoops game Tuesday night — Coeur d’Alene Charter vs. North Idaho Christian at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d’Alene.

On Wednesday, St. Maries visits Kootenai, and Timberlake plays host to East Valley in a game pushed back from Tuesday.

In Thursday openers, it’s Shadle Park at Coeur d’Alene, and Lakeside hosting North Idaho Christian.

On Friday, Post Falls and Lake City get underway at the Border Clash at West Valley High. Post Falls faces North Central, and Lake City plays West Valley. The teams trade opponents on Saturday. Genesis Prep also debuts on Friday, facing Kellogg at the Silver Valley Tournament in Wallace.

On Saturday, Lakeland opens at home vs. Bonners Ferry.

Coeur d’Alene’s wrestling team opens Thursday with a pair of duals in Boise, a tuneup for the Buck’s Bags tournament Friday and Saturday at Capital High.

Post Falls, the defending state 5A wrestling champions, opens Friday and Saturday at a tournament in Sidney, Mont. Timberlake opens Saturday at a junior varsity tournament in Sandpoint.
