Marjorie Jane French, 87
Marjorie Jane French, 87, passed away Nov. 22, 2015, in Coeur d’Alene. She was born in Pasadena, Calif., on Oct. 29, 1928, to Francis and Albert Williamson. Marjorie had one brother, Bob and a sister, Lou Ann.
The family resided in the Southern California area most of their lives. Marjorie attended school in Temple City and Pasadena City College. The family vacationed on Balboa Island in California where she met her husband, Kenneth French. They were married Aug. 7, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nev., and resided in the San Gabriel Valley where they had three children, Debbie (Izatt), Linda (Cunningham) and Todd French.
Marge was a sweet and loving Mother, Grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was an incredible person with a fun personality and a great sense of humor. She was active in the lives of her husband and children. She was president of the PTA and was also president of the Women’s Club in San Gabriel, Calif., for several years. Marge was someone who always stepped up to the plate. She organized special programs, carnivals, fashion shows and parties. Her greatest gift was a keen artistic flair and creative talent. Marge enjoyed drawing and designing interiors. She shared her mother’s talent for sewing and made many of the clothes for special events. She loved family times at the beach and boating at the Colorado River and Lake Havasu, Ariz. Some of her greatest joys were her dogs. She was never without the company of a four-legged friend.
Marge worked for Coast Federal Savings, where she served many years as a loan officer in San Gabriel. After the loss of her husband of 56 years, Kenny, she moved to St. George, Utah, and years later to North Idaho to be with her children and grandchildren.
Marge is survived by her three children, Debbie (Bruce) Izatt of Coeur d’Alene, Linda (Steve) Cunningham of Spokane and Todd French; her grandchildren, Leslie (Aaron) Misiuk, Cristy (Chad) Mc Kinney, Jessica (Dallas) Croft, Annie Douglas, Jason French, Josh French, Brandy French and Shae French; great-grandchildren Cayden, Kylie, Evan, Madelyn, Hannah, Dillon, Brodie and Leah; her brother, Bob (Jo Ann) Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenny French; her sister, Lou Ann Tatchell; and grandson Bryce Douglas.
Our entire family would like to thank all of her wonderful caregivers, including Tiffany at On Site for Seniors, her friends and the incredible loving staff at Bristol Heights, as well as Hospice of North Idaho for their sensitivity and kindness.
This special woman will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be touched by her loving, happy spirit.
