STORM: No match for teamwork

| November 25, 2015 8:00 PM

Tuesday’s storm was of a magnitude that few expected. With all of Lakeland Joint School District’s students in school, we needed to get them home safely. If it wasn’t for the efforts of many helpers, the job would have been more difficult and time consuming. Trees had fallen and blocked roads and bus drivers indicated that people came from nowhere with chainsaws or a hook and chain and moved trees out of the way so our buses could pass safely.

I would like to thank each one personally but there were so many chainsaw operators, tree movers and others willing to help that I wasn’t able to get all of your names. The effects of the storm have been devastating but to see our neighbors jump in and offer support and assistance in a time of need was heartwarming.

So a heartfelt THANK YOU to all who saw a school bus full of children and were willing to lend a helping hand, I want you to know that your efforts will not be soon forgotten.
