Sanford Edward 'Ed' Rhinehart Ruhle, 76
Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Sanford “Ed” Edward Rhinehart Ruhle, 76, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Nov. 21, 2015, at the Veterans Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. He was born on June 14, 1939, in New Baltimore, Mich. Ed was the son of Kenneth and Retha (Black) Ruhle.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He married Beulah “Jean” Dieringer on Sept. 16, 1972, in Anchorage, Alaska. Ed and Jean moved to the Silver Valley in 2006 from Post Falls, Idaho. Jean passed away on Dec. 11, 2007.
Ed first worked as a mechanic and crew chief for Era Helicopters in Alaska. He then served for the Department of Transportation in Alaska and Idaho. Ed lastly served as a diesel mechanics instructor for North Idaho College, when he retired.
Ed was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg and had also served as a trustee for the Church Council. He loved and enjoyed his family, camping and helping anyone in need; he had many dear friends throughout the Silver Valley. Ed was also very talented and could fix or repair anything.
Ed is survived by five children Lisa (Randy) Hill of Moscow, Idaho, Anthony (Crystal) Ruhle of Spokane, Robin (Rusty) D’Andrea of Kellogg, Joel Ruhle of Boise, Idaho, and Julie Ruhle of Petersburg, Alaska; his grandchildren Brook, Rachel, Jack, Johnie, SydAlani and Gracie; two brothers Russell Ruhle of Arizona and Raymond Ruhle of Alaska; one sister Rosemary Anker of Washington; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean and one sister Barbara.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall following services.
