COEUR d’ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Vikings clamped down on Madi Schoening, the Sandpoint Bulldogs’ leading scorer, holding her to eight points in Coeur d’Alene’s season opener, a 52-34 nonleague victory at Elmer Jordan Court.

“The key to the game was Baylie Miller, who played defense real well on Schoening,” Dale Poffenroth said. “When Madi gets going, she can beat you by herself.”
