Carole Jones, 73

| November 21, 2015 8:00 PM

Carole June “Da” Parsons Jones, 73, of Hayden, Idaho, passed Nov. 12, 2015. She was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Erie, Pa., to George Thomas Parsons and Phoebe June (Williams) Parsons.

Carole grew up and was educated in Erie and moved to Garden Grove, Calif., in 1960. In 1961 her first daughter, Melody (Shaner, Jones) Turner was born. She then married her second husband. In that union, she was blessed with her stepdaughter, Sue (Jones, Sanada) McClune. In 1965, she had her son, Ronald Jones. Carole definitely knew how to live life to the fullest. She was the glue to our family and to many friends. She was truly loved and will be missed beyond words.

After raising her children, she then married William “Poppa” Phelps. They loved to boat and travel to many places. She worked at Act media and then in 1996 moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Shortly after that, she purchased her house in Hayden, which she was so proud of. She then started working for Verizon until she retired. After being retired for a while, she decided that she needed something more to do so she became a caregiver and helped many people with their struggles and ended up performing the job as a companionship. She truly loved this job. She also was Queen of the Red Hat Society. They had so much fun getting together and dressing up. This was her favorite thing to do besides spending time with her grandkids!

She is survived by her daughters, Melody (Brett) Turner of Coeur d’Alene and Sue (Harv) McClune of Roseburg, Ore.; her son, Ronald Jones of Hayden, Idaho; and her younger brother, Rick (Trisha) Parsons of New Mexico. She has seven grandkids: Angie (Kevin) Gibby and Ryan (Melanie) Sanada of Oregon; Brandon (Laura) Turner of Coeur d’Alene; Kyle Turner of Coeur d’Alene and Courtney Turner of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; and Riley and Levi Jones of Hayden. She also has 9.5 great-grandkids: Ethan, Caleb, Zach, Austin, Olivia and baby Gibby; Anika, Andrew and Ariana Sanada; Parker Turner; and numerous family and friends, not to mention her furry four-legged babies, Molly, Maggie and Kitty face.

Carole was a member of the Lakeland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Second Ward in Rathdrum, Idaho. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at The Lakeland L.D.S. Second Ward, 201 Meyer Road, Rathdrum, ID 83858.
