Woman found dead in Lake Coeur d'Alene
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a deceased Spokane woman from Lake Coeur d’Alene on Monday.
The KCSO was called to the area near Fullers Bay at the south end of Lake Coeur d’Alene around 1:45 p.m. to investigate a body found floating in the water.
The sheriff’s dive team and detectives responded and recovered the body of a young female floating near the surface of the water. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday and the results are pending.
The death is currently listed as “suspicious.” The female was identified as Kimberly Sue Vezina, 27, of Spokane.
KCSO Lt. Stu Miller said no further information is being released due to the nature of the death.
“What would a 20-year-old girl be doing in the lake when it's known she didn’t really hang around down there?” Miller said, adding Vezina had a criminal record in Washington as well.
Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance, if they’ve had contact with Vezina, to contact either Sgt. Ken Lallatin or Detective Darrell Oyler at the following numbers/email: Sgt. Ken Lallatin: (208)446-1337 klallatin@kcgov.us or Detective Darrell Oyler: (208)446-1339 doyler@kcgov.us
