Troy Carr

College of Idaho football

Carr, a 5-foot-11, 205 pound sophomore linebacker from Lakeland High in Rathdrum, was named to the 2015 College Division Academic All-District 4 football team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Carr, also an outfielder on the baseball team, was named to same team during the spring for baseball. Carr leads the Yotes (3-7, 3-6 Frontier) with 67 tackles, including four for loss.

Derek Bayley

Bayley, a sophomore from Lakeland High, moved 22 spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for 21st, helping the Cougars to a 15th-place finish in the Ka’anapali Classic on Sunday at the Royal Ka’anapali Course in Maui, Hawaii. Highlighted by an eagle on the 14th hole, Bayley shot a 4-under par (67) to bring his three-round total to 215 (2 over), finishing 10 strokes back of tournament champion Zach Healy of Georgia (205).

Madi Farrell

Farrell, a 6-foot-2 sophomore middle blocker from Lake City High, is third on the Crusaders (15-9, 12-4 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) with 227 kills and leads the team with 135 blocks.

Ethan Brandt

The Master’s College baseball

Brandt, a sophomore who played at Lake City and graduated from Classical Christian, signed a letter of intent to transfer from Division II Northwest Nazarene in Nampa to NAIA The Master’s College in Santa Clara, Calif.

Miranda Miller

Miller, a sophomore from Coeur d’Alene High, had 12 kills for the Spartans (12-18) in a 25-16, 17-25, 25-11, 25-15 loss to the Snow Badgers in the opening round of the Region 18 tournament on Nov. 6 in Twin Falls. She was an honorable mention to the all conference team. On Nov. 2, Miller was named Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week after finishing with 10 kills and 18 digs against Salt Lake, then totaling 11 kills and 15 digs against Southern Idaho. She is the first player in school history to receive the honor.
