Genevieve Marie Charvet James, 88
Genevieve (Genny) was born on May 11, 1927, to French immigrants, Jeanne (Menager) and Emanuel Charvet in Grandview, Wash. She was the youngest of 13 children.
Genny lived in Grandview and Montana as a child, then moved to San Francisco where she graduated from high school. Following high school, Genny attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing, graduating with an RN degree in the class of 1949; after which Genny moved to Richland, Wash., to work at the hospital in Hanford, Wash.
Genny met the love of her life, Leander (Lee), they started a “mail courtship” and were married in 1954. They were married for 38 years until Lee’s passing in September 1992.
While raising their family in San Jose, Calif., the James Family had many fun vacations visiting family in Washington, Montana, Illinois, Louisiana and up and down the coast of California. Genny enjoyed her family, cooking, entertaining, playing cards, volunteering within the community and supporting her family with their activities. From about 1995 through 2014, she lived in Elk Grove, Calif., before moving to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Genny is survived by her four children, Gina (Murray) Kullrich, Laura (Paul) Copsey, Gendy (Dave) Allbrook and Lee (Kim) James; 10 grandchildren, Rob Copsey (Rachelle and GG — Juliana Amelie), Patricia Copsey Holmes (Richard and GG — Baby January 2016), Bert Copsey (Katherine), Katie Copsey, Leanne Allbrook Chacon (Javier and GG — Valentino Chacon), David “DJ” Allbrook, Dylan Lee James, Louis Alexandre James, Emma Claire James and Isabelle Lee James; her sister, Renee Woodard; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Leander Laurel James III; her parents, seven sisters and four brothers predeceased her.
