ID: Military should be fine

| November 6, 2015 8:00 PM

I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother, Anna McManus. She immigrated to this country in 1960, where she met my father, Lt. Col. Ronald T. McManus, who served his country in Korea and Vietnam and thus began her life as a military wife. As a military family we lived in many cities in the USA as well as numerous countries abroad. We used our military IDs to gain access to military bases and travel through international security at airports.

I recently took my mother to Ross where she presented her military ID to write a check and was told that was not an acceptable form of ID and that it is Ross Stores’ corporate policy not to accept military ID. Other large corporate stores in our area such as Michaels, Home Depot and Lowes accept military IDs as well as offer a discount to our military every day of the week.

Ross giant corporation, I ask you where is your support for military veterans and their wives in our small town when my mother can’t use her military ID to write a $34 check at your store?
