Ted Leroy Nixon, 84
Ted Leroy Nixon, 84, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away Oct. 29, 2015, at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene.
Ted was born on April 14, 1931, in Boise, Idaho, to Donald and Ruby (Speece) Nixon.
Granddaughter Nicole wrote so beautifully: “Everyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with Ted Nixon was better off for having met him. The world was a kinder, gentler, and far more special place with him in it. He touched so many lives during his time on this Earth, and brought warmth and laughter with him everywhere he went. A true patriarch, Ted Nixon was the centerpiece of a very tight-knit and loving family who will miss him every moment. Everyone who knew him is so grateful that he lived long enough to see his friends and family grow and prosper to such great lengths. When a loved one is lost, it never seems like they were with us for quite long enough; but Ted’s family feels so genuinely blessed to have been gifted with the time they were able to spend with him. His life-of-the party demeanor and unforgettable sense of humor are already sorely missed.”
Ted was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn; mother Ruby; father Don; sister Donna and brother Bill.
He is survived by his brother, Larry and wife Barbara and family; sons Kirby and Kerry and families; lifelong friends and extended family, the Cushman clan; and many, many beloved and cherished people. He loved you all in his own special way.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, with a reception following. Please visit Ted’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuenralhomes.com.
