PUTIN: Not alone in spawning anarchy

| November 4, 2015 8:00 PM

In an article by John J. Mearsheimer 1990, he stated, “We may wake up one day lamenting the loss of the order that the cold war gave to the anarchy of international relations.”

Anarchy: a state of society without government or law. (No Rules)

Vladimir Putin leads the world now in the trend toward anarchical rule. In international affairs, he is no longer bound by international treaties. It doesn’t matter what rules are made he chooses not to adhere to them. The cold war held his kind of anarchy in check.

In the light of Mearsheimer’s article, America is lamenting the loss of the order that moral teaching gave to the anarchy of societal relations. The failure to transmit values and traditions represents our countries greatest failing. Moral law is self-disciplining; our increased reliance on laws to regulate behavior is a measure of how uncivilized we’ve become. We now bring order to our schools by having policemen throw children across classrooms to quell their foolish/selfish inclinations.

This makes for great headlines, but the race card misses the point. This child and whoever trained her in the “Putin Way” are responsible for this situation that led to violence. There is a natural outcome of lawlessness. This violence is the direct result of there no longer being a right and wrong in America. Spawning anarchy eventually leads to “No life matters.”

There is a law that quells the trend to anarchy — the law of love. Jesus said, “Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (Luke 6: 28) This kind of love goes beyond the “Golden Rule.” All lives matter to Him.
