NIC third seed to

Region 18

The North Idaho Cardinal volleyball team will open the Region 18 tournament on Friday at 2 p.m. PST against the Utah State-Eastern Golden Eagles on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

NIC (19-13) swept Utah State-Eastern (12-17) in conference play this year.

Winners of Saturday’s semifinal matches will advance to the NJCAA tournament Nov. 19-21 at the Casper Event Center in Casper, Wyo.

All tournament matches will be webcast at www.athletics.csi.edu.

Match 3 — No. 2 Salt Lake (24-7) vs. No. 7 Southern Nevada (2-25), 5.

Saturday

Match 4 — No. 1 Southern Idaho (29-3) vs. Winner Match 1, 9 a.m. (winner to nationals)

Match 5 — Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3, 11 (winner to nationals)

Match 6 — Winner Match 4 vs. Winner Match 5, 4 p.m. (Region 18 championship match)
