Aleene Richerson Kiger, 100
Aleene passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2015, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Aleene was born to Ernest and Mary Richerson on July 30, 1915, in Pullman, Wash., and celebrated her 100th birthday this summer.
She married Ed Schilling in 1932 and lived in Indiana for four years and then moved back to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1936 and that was when her daughter, Darline, was born. Aleene married John Kiger in 1941. Aleene always had a big garden and did lots of canning and was also a very good cook.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Lee Selzler of Coeur d’Alene; grandson Kevin Selzler of Coeur d’Alene and great-granddaughter Rachael Selzler of Hayden. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darline Selzler; two sisters Grace and Lorain Vesser; three brothers Roy, Lewis and CleAllan; two nieces Shirley Shibley and Sharon Vesser; and nephew Dave Vesser.
