Shawn Bruntmyer, 43
Shawn Allen Bruntmyer lived a full, vivacious 43 years of life. He was blessed with a strong ability to make people laugh about almost anything. Putting a person’s life into 600 words or less is nearly impossible. But if I had to summarize it shortly, it would read “He lived.” Really lived, to an extent some people only wish they could. Born on Dec. 29, 1971, to Ronnie Allen Bruntmyer and Charliene Lou Pope in Denver, Colo.
He attended Adams city schools, and spent time in multiple parts of Colorful Colorado. His favorite by far being Steamboat Springs where his love of food really flourished. Shawn had the opportunity to work as a chef in some of the best restaurants the small mountain town had to offer. He had a love for food, for providing an outstanding meal for people to enjoy together.
His strong Colorado roots fed his love for the Denver Broncos, and the Colorado Avalanche. He loved watching sports and horror films. Music was a large part of his life. Constantly, dedicating songs to his loved ones so we all knew just how he felt. Shawn loved the outdoors. Camping, fishing, even just laying outside staring up at the night sky. His very favorite holiday was Christmas. The tree, lights, music, and especially spending time preparing a great meal for his beautiful family to gather around.
He had a loving wife, Carrie Bruntmyer. Two beautiful daughters, Shaela Coyle Bruntmyer, and Brittnie Cotton. Three strong sons, Tobi Bruntmyer, Trevor Bruntmyer and Dustin Bruntmyer. He recently acquired a new member of his family as well. His new son-in-law, Gage Coyle Bruntmyer. Shawn’s wife Carrie, daughter Shaela, and sons Tobi, Trevor, Dustin and Gage will continue to carry him in our hearts from Post Falls, Idaho. His father Ronnie, sister Laura, brother Steven, nieces, nephews, daughter Brittnie and two grandchildren will remember him from Colorado. Shawn is preceded in death by his grandfather, Hank; grandmother Doris and mother Charliene.
After ending the long battle with liver failure on Oct. 24, 2015, in Post Falls, he will carry on forever in our hearts, minds and thoughts. He will live on through his loved ones in every smile and laugh. His wisdom and strength with continue to grow within his children. Gone now, but never forgotten. We love you so much daddy.
To help support the family during this difficult time, below is the Go Fund Me that was originally created before his passing to help with expenses. The family is still posting it for help with the cost of taking care of him after life.
