PREP FOOTBALL: Timberlake tripped up in opener
SPIRIT LAKE — Brandon Hausladen ran for 88 yards and threw for 106, but the Timberlake Tigers lost 24-14 to the Parma Panthers in a first-round state 3A football playoff game Saturday night at Van Tuinstra Memorial Field.
Timberlake, which finished 6-3, last lost in a play-in (round of 16) game in 2002.
Payton Pinz ran for 104 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown in the first quarter for Parma (5-4), which visits Homedale in the quarterfinals next weekend.
