Age fighting tips for mothers, daughters and everyone else!

The No. 1 suggestion I have for young people today is: Wear your sunscreen. In your late teens and early twenties, protection of your skin is key! Sure, your Mom chased you around with the sunscreen when you were little, but now it's up to you.

Tanning is the fastest way to age your skin. Of course, this is sound advice for everyone, but it is important to look at your labels when choosing a suitable sunscreen. Always look for physical blocks with ingredients of zinc oxide, and titanium oxide. These are considered sunblocks, not sunscreens. It will provide the maximum protection while enjoying the outdoors this summer. Also, remember that it should be applied frequently when spending time outside. Don't forget your hands. They age the fastest, because they are most frequently exposed without protection.

Another layer of protection to consider is an efficient antioxidant. Topical vitamin Cs come in different formulas and you need the proper molecular structure to penetrate the skin. In fact, stop by our office and purchase the perfect vitamin C for your skin and receive a tinted or non-tinted sun block for free! (While supplies last) Remember, apply your vitamin C serums only once a day, in the morning to maximize your daily protection from environmental insults other than UVA and UVB rays.

For those of you who are wearing signs of sun damage on your face, hyperpigmentation is likely cropping up. Again, I'd advise an antioxidant and a sunblock to protect from further damage while also layering a pigment-regulating product on your skin to correct those signs of aging. It is never too late to take care of your skin.
