SEYMOUR: For school board

| May 14, 2015 9:00 PM

It’s election time and we are once again given the opportunity to make a difference by voting a person of character into leadership on our school board. Be aware — we have only one candidate with experience, longevity, board knowledge and a track record of consistent integrity. This candidate is Terri Seymour. Voting the best person into office is your way of saying that you care about the culture of our schools and the environment in which our children are being taught.

Let me point out a couple of ways that Terri has worked to make our schools a safe and healthy place to learn: Terri urged Coeur d’Alene schools to take an honest assessment of how bullying is handled. She is passionate about all children feeling safe in our school environment. She has been outspoken that Coeur d’Alene schools enforce our policies on bullying and that we see a culture shift when dealing with bullies. Terri is a big proponent for parent choices in our classroom. Terri believes that parents should “opt-in” rather than “opt-out” of controversial material in classrooms. She believes a parent, not the school staff, should decide what may or may not be appropriate for students.

I hope you will consider voting for the candidate with the most character and with a proven track record. Please vote Terri Seymour for Zone 3 on May 19.
