RATHDRUM - Kari Prockish held Sandpoint to three hits and one (unearned) run, as top-seeded Lakeland beat the No. 2 seed Bulldogs 11-1 in the semifinals of the 4A District 1 tournament on Tuesday.

Lakeland (7-15) advances to the championship game Saturday at noon at home. The Hawks will host the winner of Thursday's loser-out game pitting third seed Moscow (5-17) at Sandpoint (10-13). That winner will have to beat Lakeland twice to advance to state.

Earlier Tuesday, Sandpoint defeated Moscow 10-5.

Prockish struck out three and walked four in picking up the win, and was supported with 10 hits.

"It was a great team effort," Lakeland coach Colleen Bevacqua said. "We played really clean defense and hit the ball well."

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Katie Kastning's three-run double induced the 10-run rule. She went 3 for 4, and Emily Vanderhoof went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Savannah Pruitt hit a solo home run in the fifth, her second this season.
