ZONING: Voting for own interests

Thank you Jim Barrett for your letter. I too think the county commissioners should bow out of this zoning change vote if they are receiving contributions from Dennis Swartout and/or Mort Construction. They’re not voting for the residents of Kootenai County, but their own interests.

We are OPPOSED to the development proposal and future proposals that need rezoning to add all these homes on small acreage in the county. We enjoy our country lifestyle, livestock and wide open spaces. There is truly no need for this development.

There are hundreds of homes on the prairie where we use to purchase our hay. All those fenced developments that we call mini-prisons. Using Silverwood employees as a basis is ridiculous. Those are seasonal jobs, and so many of the employees are teenage school kids. They’re not buying homes.
