Programs at Post Falls Senior Center
Research shows that older adults who participate in senior center programs can learn to manage and delay the onset of chronic disease and experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental, and economic well-being. Today's senior centers are reinventing themselves to meet the needs and desires of the aging baby boom generation. Boomers now constitute more than two-thirds of the 50+ population. Senior centers are developing new programs and opportunities for this dynamic generation of older adults.
The Post Falls Senior Center is working hard at helping local seniors with many of these programs. We have many different ways to get involved. We want you to feel warm and welcomed at our center. We want you to know that you have a safe and secure place to come and visit, eat and enjoy the activities we have to offer. Our senior center is like no other as we pride ourselves in ensuring that you are taken care of from the first moment you walk in to all the rest of your visits.
Some of the programs the Post Falls Senior Center host are Fit and Fall Proof Exercise classes on Mondays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m., Tai Chi Exercise on Wednesday with Bob Hughes at 9 a.m. and he has been taught by the best of the best. We have Movie Mondays now after lunch come see a premier movie and enjoy popcorn and soda. Dances on Tuesday afternoon with a live band, doors open at 12:30 p.m. and dance starts at 1:30 p.m. Lunches are available each Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 11:45 a.m. Our meals include our new addition of a salad bar, main meal, dessert and drink station. We hope you plan to join in on some of events. We are working on adding many more events this spring and fall so please call or pickup one of our events calendars.
The Senior Center is holding our annual fundraiser Gold Rush 2015!
This Saturday night at the Greyhound Park and Events Center will be a wonderful dinner provided by Garden Plaza of Post Falls. The menu includes beef brisket, barbecue chicken, pulled pork sliders, corn on the cob, cowboy beans, salads, and a dessert bar by Stacie's Cakes of Post Falls. There will also be dancing to the Rhythm Dawgs (sponsored by Knudtsen Chevrolet), and silent auction items up for grabs. All of this for $25 per person tickets on sale at the Post Falls Senior Center, Post Falls Chamber of Commerce and Washington Trust Bank Post Falls. These funds will help continue our mission to provide the seniors an opportunity to interact with the community and those mentioned above.
