Coffman, Truesdell hook up for five TDs as Shock down Portland

PORTLAND - Spokane quarterback Carson Coffman threw for 328 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the Shock past the Portland Thunder 69-48 in Arena Football League play on Sunday night in a game televised on ESPN2.

Coffman connected on 20 of 32 passes, and his favorite target was Nick Truesdell, who hauled in seven passes for 124 yards and five touchdowns. Jabin Sambrano caught two TD passes, and Braylon Bell and Christian Wise had one apiece.

Nelson Arvell bulled his way in from 2 yards out for a Shock touchdown in the first quarter.

Spokane (4-8) hosts San Jose on Friday at The Arena at 7 p.m. Portland (3-9) travels to Las Vegas on Sunday.
