NOTICE FOR COMMENT USDA - Forest Service, Idaho Panhandle National Forests Sandpoint Ranger District Bonner County, Idaho Opportunity to Object - Treasured Landscapes Recreation Project Erick Walker, District Ranger of the Sandpoint Ranger District on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, has prepared an environmental assessment (EA), draft decision notice (DN) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the Treasured Landscapes Recreation Project. He has decided to implement alternative 2 as analyzed in the EA. The project area is located within the Lightning Creek and Mosquito Creek drainages north of the community of Clark Fork, Idaho. Most of this area is within Bonner County, Idaho. A small portion of the project area is located in Sanders and Lincoln Counties, Montana. This project will improve and re-establish safe and reliable public recreation access within the Lightning Creek drainage north of Clark Fork, Idaho. More specifically, the project will implement the following activities: construct a winter warming hut at the head end of Lightning Creek Road, re-establish a sustainable trail on the Morris Creek Trail #132, construct a new trailhead and trail to access the Beetop-Roundtop Trail #120, reroute the lower portion of the Scotchman Peaks Trail #65, construct boardwalks and highlines at Lake Darling, Moose Lake and Blacktail Lake, and construct a new ATV bridge crossing Lightning Creek on the Porcupine Lake Trail #642.
