SCOUTS: Gay leaders immoral

My name is Jared, and I am writing a letter about an issue for a school assignment. The issue is the Boy Scouts of America changing their policy to admit gay leaders.

I do not support this at all. Being a Boy Scout myself, I believe in following the Scout Oath, which states to keep yourself morally straight. In my opinion, the definition of being morally straight is to not do things that are immoral.

I also believe in enforcing Youth Protection, which are standards to protect people under 18 from many things like abuse and discomfort. With this new change in the Boy Scout Policy, I am sure that many young men will feel uncomfortable and the parents will pull them out. Because of this, I believe that the Boy Scouts of America has made a change that will make things worse instead of better. I wish the BSA would stand for principles of morality, and not bend to the latest cultural moral craze.
